  • Born 19 July 1957
  • Educated at St. Peter’s College and the University of Adelaide, B.Arch (1979)
  • Worked as an architect 1980-1991
  • Worked as a golf course architect 1991- present
  • Represented Australia as an amateur golfer four times in 1984-85, including a member of the Eisenhower Cup team 1984
  • 4 times South Australian Amateur Golf Champion
  • Editor of ‘Golf Architecture’ magazine, the annual publication of the Society of Australian Golf Course Architects (SAGCA) from Issue 1 (1997) to Issue 10 (2006)
  • Author of a number of golf and golf course design articles in books and magazines
  • Currently researching books on Bernard Darwin and Dr. Alister MacKenzie
  • Neil has been researching the life and works of Alex Russell for well over 15 years.

Over 25 published articles in magazines and compilation books including ‘Golf Architecture’ magazine. Neil is currently also writing a book on the golf courses of Dr. Alister MacKenzie.

John Green

  • Born 10 September 1929
  • Educated at Scotch College and University of Melbourne, MBBS (1955), B.Sc. (1965)
  • General Medical Practice 1958 to 1969
  • Monash University Health Service (Clayton) 1969 – 1993, 23 years as the Director
  • Retired 1993
  • Since retirement he has been active in researching the history of the Royal Melbourne Golf Club (RMGC), with a particular interest in the courses and Alex Russell
  • A member of RMGC History and Archives Committee, 2004 continuing
  • Member of various other committees and sub-committees at RMGC, mostly relating to aspects of the courses
  • Club Champion RMGC – 1970, 1974, 1979
  • Elected Life Member of RMGC in 2013
